Yup, I’m alive 
Since the last time I posted there has been at least one life changing event . On April 11, 2011 my boyfriend asked me to marry him. So, in the midst of kicking off the planning of a wedding, not a whole lot of knitting has been done.
The knitting that HAS been done I couldn’t really talk about until last week, and now I finally have time to share with you.
While I know of many people having kids this year, one of them is very close to me. A few months back I posted pictures of the gender sock monkey before the gender party for my good friend (and future sister-in-law) Rebecca. One night before the gender party she mentioned to me that in that very instant she wanted a girl because of all of the cute watermelon clothes. I made a mental note and saved off a hat for a reference.
Leave it to my amazing knitting group to know of a pattern for a watermelon sweater!
This sweater was a fantastic knit. The yarn had it’s issues with the random breaks but the sweater pattern was AMAZING!

- Needles: US 4, 5, and 6

How cute is that little watermelon button? The sweater was gifted to the mommy of Layla who will be joining us sometime in the next two months. I can’t wait to see the little bundle of fun wrapped up in the sweater.
